The first chore will be to go thru the 30 hours of tape - learn what's on each reel - catalog the 'good takes' - find the matching audio files - which were captured separately - then import the video and audio takes into the video editor application.
Frames from actual scenes are included below...
BELOW: JANINE shows RO a tune she wrote based on the gestalt of their new company, Destrudo - RO shows incredible patience
BELOW: ROSEBUD presents a rogue's gallery of potential customers, "Ya got your mad-scientists, dictators, crime-bosses, hedge-fund managers, rich guys with lovenests, conspiracy theorists and the rapture-crowd..."
BELOW: JANINE hears the business plan, "Blah blah... blah blah JANINE - blah blah... JANINE"
Many indie-shorts such as DESTRUDO never even get THIS far - thank goodness for the willingness and determination of the people who signed up to be part of the project who have made sure [by showing up on time with lines learned, wardrobe, makeup, good attitude, etc] that we even got to this point.
BELOW: The workspace of the two women is where they are first met. Complete with politically incorrect website, TV explosions and a wall-poster from one of their other, less than savory, projects.
BELOW: JANINE and RO discuss the two kinds of work in the world - stuff people can't do and stuff people don't wanna do...
BTW - if you do the math and assume there's maybe 2 or 3 minutes of runtime footage on each one of those 30 one-hour-long tapes - then that means the total runtime for DESTRUDO will be 60 to 90 minutes. Obviously, this can't be the case and have the project qualify as an indie-short.
As a result, there will probably be lots of hacking and slashing of lines of superfluous action and/or establishing shots in order to bring the runtime into the 30 minute time-frame. We'll see how THAT goes... they always tell you, "you have to be willing to kill your most precious offspring" - which, I guess, nobody believes utill they go through this very process.
One thing for sure - as each tape is loaded into the deck for review - there's laughter and expressions of wonder as the really great work done by everyone is seen on the monitor. There's no doubt about it - something special has happened here
BELOW: RHYS (played by Eddie Pickens) presents his new advertisement for the company via teleconference. RHYS tells them, "This is wicked-sick-double-deadly - but in the good sense..."
