What They Don't Teach You In Film School...
Picked up a very funny book - at the behest of MATT PAGE who is a great instructor, among other things. Matt is a rising star in the world of directors and is involved in many cool projects both as Producer and Director. The book was suggested in the "Film Director's Intensive Workshop" at SFCC and I think could also be titled, |
| There's a section in Chapter 19 "Sex,Lies, and 16mm" where point #126 (of 161) is entitled: "Don't Fall In Love With Cast Or Crew" - followed by point #127: "Since you'll probably do it anyway, try not to sleep with them until after the shoot". This sage advice is followed by point #128: "Since you'll probably sleep with them anyway, try to choose someone who can't ruin the film". Beyond that is point #129: "Since you'll break up anyway, try to do it after principal photography". The section closes out with a final admonition as point #130: "If you still have a personal life, don't invite it onto the set". Of course, there's LOTS more fun stuff in there - and I highly recommend the book - suffice to say, "Thanks MATT!" |
